A lifelong resident of Alberta, Ken says he and his family have always had Mexico in the back of their minds. He says now that his 3 daughters are grown, he and his wife felt it was time to try something new, to try the Mexican lifestyle. Having visited Mexico many times and even getting married in Mexico, Ken fell in love with the people and culture. He says he’s of course also happy to get away from the winter climate in Canada.

He says it’s so easy to fall in love with Mazatlan because you can be in the city shopping for fresh produce at the amazing Piño Suarez Market and still be just a couple blocks away for a jump in the ocean.

He says the Malecon is the real gem of Mazatlan, that there is a strong health and wellness vibe. Combining that with the colonial architecture, rich history, sports teams, cool, laid-back local eateries, and 13 miles of beaches, Ken says it’s an incredible place to live.
